Washington was the son of John B. Chandler and Rebeckah McVey (Winstead) Chandler. He married Letha Morrow 07 Jan 1825 in Person County, NC. After Letha's death in 1854 he married Luticia Bailey 20 Oct 1854 in Hopkins County, KY. His date of birth is taken from U.S. Federal censuses, and his death date is taken from his will listed in Will Records, Book 121, p. 228, on file at the Hopkins County Clerk's Office. His burial location is taken from a manuscript written by his brother Hugh B. Chandler titled GRAVYARDS EN WUBSTER KONTY. On page 5, Hugh refers to his brother as Washe, and identifies his place of burial as the Day Cemetery. This manuscript was given to my father, Otto Ramsey, by Cordis Chandler, a 2x great grandson of Washington Chandler. A copy is on file at the Hopkins County Genealogical Society.
