June Estelle Ebers, 80, a resident of Barstow for 42 years, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at Barstow Community Hospital. She was born on Sept. 5, 1923 in Laurel, Neb.She was a secretary with San Bernardino C.S.A. 40 in Barstow for 30 years. She graduated from Manuel High School in North Dakota in 1942. She loved bowling, going to church, and helping friends and family.She was a member of Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church for 40 years serving as financial secretary as well as in many other positions. She received an award from San Bernardino County for her years of service.Survivors include her husband, Roger Ebers of Barstow; sons, David Ebers of Barstow and Michael Ebers of Yuma, Ariz.; daughter, Carol Cosper of Rubidoux; sister, Valda Platt of Ridgecrest; 14 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Monday, May 10, 2004 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mead Mortuary, 36930 Irwin Road. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church. 1301 Mt. View St.Memorial service will be at Mountain View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road. Donations may be made to Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church.
