PASSES AWAY WHILE MILKING
William Berge Found Dead on Milk Stool by Wife Monday Morning

The people of Winfield were shocked Monday morning to hear of the sudden death of William Berge. He had appeared to be in perfect health but Monday morning he and his wife went to the barn to do the milking. Mrs. Berge had completed her task first, returning to the house. When Mr. Berge did not return she went to call him and found him seated on the milk stool dead.
Mr. Berge was a man of fine character and was always ready to aid any one who asked a favor. He had attended church at the Reformed church at Kratzerville of which he was a member.
He leaves his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Sylvester Hess, of Rochester, New York; three sons, Harry and Roy, of Winfield; and John, of Mazeppa; two brothers and three sisters, Frank, of Winfield; Simon, of Sharonsville, Mrs. Frank Dask, of Sharpsville, Indiana; Mrs. George Smith, of Shamokin Dam, and Mrs. Charles Reichley, of Dry Valley Cross Roads.
Funeral services were held from the home.
Interment was made in the Winfield cemetery.
