Eva May Troxell, 91,
WINFIELD--Eva May (Berge) Troxell, 91, of Winfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at RiverWoods in Lewisburg, where she had been a resident since 2004. She was a former resident of Winfield. Eva was born in Winfield on January 11, 1917, the daughter of the late Roy and Anna (Renn) Berge. On October 2, 1938, she married Jay R. Troxell, who passed away December 3, 2001, ending a 62-year marriage.
She was educated in Winfield and graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1934. Eva was a longtime member of Community Fellowship Church Winfield in Oaklyn and played the piano there for many years. She and her husband were very devoted to their church and regularly transported a handicapped woman with them. More recently, she and her husband attended Winfield Baptist Church.
In earlier years, she was an avid flower gardener and crafter, and she enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Wanda Troxell, of Winfield; seven grandchildren, Jill (Troxell) Miller, of Turbotville, and Jay, Jon, Travis, Tina, Taylor and Taryn Troxell; three great-grandchildren, Sarah and Jackson Miller, of Turbotville and Isabella Troxell; and two nephews, Jan Berge and Zane Berge.
She was preceded in death by one son, Larry Troxell, and two brothers, Malcolm and Mark Berge.
Visitation was at Winfield Baptist Church, where the funeral was conducted Pastor John Thornbury.
Burial was in Shreiner's Cemetery, 11th Avenue, Shamokin Dam.
Arrangements were by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street Sunbury.
