MOUNT GILEAD — Delpha Ruth Mosher, 87, of Mount Gilead, died Sunday Sept. 10, 2017 at her home. She was born July 30, 1930, in Cleveland the daughter of the late Carl and Lena (Lockwood) Cox.

Ruth had worked as a secretary for many years, working for companies like Nazarene Publishing House, Swan Hose Division and Eaton Heater. She was a typist from an early age and was a master of her craft. Ruth typed 32 books in total that her husband Charles had written.

She was hand selected by Dr. Ralph Earl to type the translated NIV bible draft. Ruth's passion was music, and she was able to record her own album.

On July 30, 1950 in Michigan, Ruth married Charles D. Mosher, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 2010.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Janice Banfield of Mansfield; grandchildren, Jason, Ryan, Nathan, and Andrea (Scott) Riggs; great-grandchildren, Landon, Izayah and Luke Riggs; a sister, Carol Griffith of Florida.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth and brother Carson Cox.

Friends may call on Thursday Sept. 14, from 12 p.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center St. in Cardington. A funeral service will take place immediately following at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Jeannie Winters and Chaplin Jeff Slider officiating.

Burial will take place at Union Cemetery following the service.
