Rosemary Lou Alsop of New Harmony, Indiana, passed away, Monday, July 31, 2023. She was born on September 19, 1932 to Marion and Anna (Johnson) Cleveland in Burnt Prairie, Illinois.

Rosemary graduated from New Harmony High School in 1950 and married Ivan Alsop in Hatfield, Indiana on September 30. 1950 and was married for 61 years until his death in 2012. Rosemary worked at the Workingmen's Institute and Library in New Harmony for over 25 years and was the secretary for Johnson United Methodist Church in New Harmony for over 25 years.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband Ivan, son Gary, parents Marion and Anna Cleveland, her in-laws Cortland and Juna Alsop, sister Phyllis Edgell and brother Lynn Cleveland.

Surviving are her children Pat (Bill) Wilson, Jim (Judy) Alsop, Steve Alsop and Melissa (Donnie) Peerman, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Donnie (Virginia) Alsop and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2023 at Johnson United Methodist Church in New Harmony, Indiana with Reverend Alvin McFadden performing the service, burial in Maple Hill Cemetery in New Harmony. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thursday, August 3, 2023.
