Funeral services for Margaret Pruter will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City, with the Rev. Scott Carmichael and Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lake City.

Mrs. Pruter, 91, of Lake City died Tuesday (April 1, 1008) at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Wabasha.

Margaret Niemann was born April 27, 1916, in Cottage Grove. She attended country schools in the Cottage Grove area. She graduated from the Minnesota School of Agriculture in 1939. She married Arnold Pruter Sept. 14, 1943, in Cottage Grove. They farmed on his family farm in Lake Township. Her husband died March 6, 2003. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sons, Eugene (Luena) Pruter of Winona and Ralph of Lake City; a daughter, Joyce Heimer of Lake City; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Emily Hartung of St. Paul. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, an infant granddaughter, a brother, and a sister.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church.
