Barbara R. George, 100, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

She was born October 25, 1918, in Independence, KS, daughter of Walter Franklin and Fern (Mackay) Head.

She was married to J. Kenneth George, who died in 1977.

Barbara worked as a teacher in her younger years, before becoming a homemaker. Later she owned and operated Stardust Motel. She was a Methodist and belonged to the Order of Easter Star and the Friday Reading Club. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross. Her hobbies included playing Bridge, reading, sewing and gardening.

Surviving are a daughter, Sherre Yonce, of Odessa; two grandchildren, Shawn McCue and Shad McCue; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Riche Morgan; two grandsons, Jeffrey Morgan and Shane McCue; three brothers, Kenneth, Lawrence and William Head; and a sister, Nelda Smith.

No services are planned at this time.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
