She was born on September 12, 1925 in Vandergrift to the late Pasquale and Francesca (Caliguiri) Intrieri.
Anita was formerly employed as a library assistant for many years. She was a member of Mt. St. Peter Addolorata Society and was a Sacristan for over 25 years at the church taking meticulous care of all the altar linens and dressings. She volunteered at the church for numerous events including the Italian Festa. Anita was a member of the New Kensington YMCA, Alle-Kiski Senior Citizens Club, New Kensington Eagles, and VFW of Lower Burrell. She was a founding member of The Ezekiel 37 Prayer Group at Mt. St. Peter. Anita was always known for her positive attitude, her profound wisdom, her contagious laughter, her love for her Lord Jesus, her generous heart, and her love for her family!
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vespucci "Butch" Traini in 2012. Anita was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Louis, James, Albert, and baby Louis Intrieri and 7 sisters, Mary Cimino, Stella Zupanovich, Irene Ferriera, Sr. M. Joan, OSB, Clementine Percell, Eleanor Hudek, and Rosalind LeFevre. Also preceding Anita were 2 grandsons, Benjamin Ansani and Vincenzo Traini.
Anita is survived by 2 sons, Umberto and Vespucci "Skip" (Cathy) Traini, 2 daughters Marian (Tom) Ansani and Geralyn (John) Shreiner. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Jonathan (Candace) Ansani, Anita (Oliver) Bedwell, Alexandra "Allie" (Joseph) Gizoni, Sonja (Adam) Shaw, Krista (Ben) Cogan, Erica (Tim) Alford, John "Nick" Shreiner, Michelle (Dustin) Ziegler, Kaitlynn "Katie" (William) Harris, Norine Sobotka, Olivia (James) Wallace, and Nathan Traini, 27 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Arnold, Pa.
