Johnnie A. Stone, 77, of Baxter Springs, KS went to be with the lord Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO surrounded by his loved ones.

Johnnie was born May 7, 1946 in Columbus, KS to the union of Jack and Nadine Stone.

He graduated from Columbus High school in 1964. In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country for 2 years.

Following his time of service, he began his trade as a brick mason where he went on to have a successful 50-year career.

He married the love of his life Dixie (Larison) Stone on June 12, 1970.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jami (Stone) Rodgers and husband Ed of Baxter Springs, Ks, and one son, Jon Stone and wife Stacie of Warren, AR. Three grandsons, Blaise Feagan and wife Cheyanne of Fairland, OK. Blair Feagan and wife Nisa of Quapaw, OK, and Sawyer Stone of Warren, AR. Two granddaughters, Baelin Whittley and husband Will of Oswego, KS, and Nola Stone of Warren, AR. Five great-grandchildren Lilly, Silas, Keaton, Kover, and David.

Two brothers, Jackie Stone of Columbus, KS and Jerrie Stone and wife Cathy of Neosho, MO. One sister, Shirley Messer of Council Grove, KS. Multiple bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with many specials' nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Jack and Nadine Stone, one sister Sherry Stone, one brother-in-law Dean Messer [#233711245], And his father and mother-in-law Jim [#26767505] and Bonnie Larison [#26767563].

Visitation will be Sunday, July 30th at Derfelt Funeral Home in Baxter Springs, KS from 2pm to 4pm.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2023 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Baxter Springs, KS, where he was a devoted member. Officiated by Shane Dotson and Ron Neely.

Pallbearers include Blaise Feagan, Blair Feagan, Will Whittley, Marty Howard, James Messer, and Jeremy Strup. The Honorary pallbearer is Sawyer Stone.

Graveside services to follow at Pleasant View [Pleasantview] Cemetery.
