Caroline Ann Pelham Canaday's passing on Friday, July 28, 2023 has been announced by Cason Funeral Service Inc in Foley, AL. Caroline passed away at home with her family by her side in Lillian, Alabama.
She was born January 31, 1940, to Charles Alonzo Pelham, of Andalusia, AL, and Elizabeth Diana Robertson, of Piedmont, AL, in Andalusia, AL. She graduated from Andalusia High School in 1958 and Troy State University in 1962, majoring in English Education, and taught high school English for many years. She enjoyed gardening, reading, writing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Lee "Tom" Canaday; siblings Diana Lee Pelham Bledsoe, Charles Robertson Pelham, and Warren Alonza "Al" Pelham; children Charles Claiborne Canaday (Jennifer), Ann Kelly Anthony (Steve), Catherine Kelly Russell, Lee Canaday, and Jimmie Sue Canaday; eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of Lillian Methodist and loved the Lord with all her heart, mind, and soul.
According to the funeral home, the following services have been scheduled: Visitation, on August 3, 2023 at 9:30 a.m., ending at 10:20 a.m., at Lillian United Methodist Church, 12770 South Perdido Street, Lillian, AL. Funeral service, on August 3, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., at Lillian United Methodist Church, 12770 South Perdido Street, Lillian, AL. Graveside service, on August 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort, 34904 AL, Spanish Fort, AL.
