Kenneth Glenn Kier Sr., 85, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at St. Catherine's Manor in Washington Court House.

He was born in New Market on July 29, 1932, the son of the late Jesse and Faye (Fanning) Kier.

Besides his parents, he was preceded by his grandson, Mark Writsel; granddaughter, Kristie Harris; two brothers, Delner and Gleason Kier; sister, Vera Simbro; and brother-in-law, Roger Simbro.

Kenneth served in the United States Army and was a member of the FOE 1161 and AMVETS 61.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Mary (Parshall) Kier, whom he married Nov. 1, 1952; He is survived by one son,two daughters and six grandchildren.

On behalf of Kenneth's wishes, he is to be cremated.

The Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
