Daughter of Thurman and Bernice (McCraken) Cook. She grew up on a farm east of Decatur and graduated from Decatur High School in 1940. She attended Decatur Baptist College, where she met Udell Rawlings. They were married on September 6, 1942 the same day he completed flight training and was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After WWII, he become a career Air Force pilot. In 1969, Udell retired and they moved to Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Udell Rawlings; sisters, Martha Hickey and Norma Wiley; brother, Leonard Cook; brothers-in-law, Scott Hickey, Roy Lynn Kahlich, Jim McNeill, and Clint Wiley; and son-in-law, OM Padgett. She leaves her daughters, Marilyn Blagg and husband, Gene of Decatur, and Suzanne Padgett of Azle; grandchildren, Dahlem Dodson and wife, Amy of Dallas, and Lisa Dodson of Conroe, Beverly Gill and husband, Rob of Grapevine; great grandchildren, Melissa, Meredith, and Davis Dodson of Dallas; and sister, Joyce McNeill of Richmond.
