Catherine P. Alexander-Lennon (Regan) 81 of Willow Grove, PA passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Friday, April 14. Born in the Tioga section of Philadelphia, Catherine was the daughter of John P. Regan and Katharine A. (Kiernan) Regan.

She is survived by her four children Michael Alexander (Patty), Kathleen Rancourt (Timothy), Amy Watson (Chris), and Josie Alexander. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Michael, Grace and Dylan Alexander, Matthew, Timmy and Samantha Rancourt, Conor, Nicholas and Ava Watson and brother, Owen Regan. She is pre-ceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Alexander and James Lennon, daughter Mary Jane Ziegler and granddaughters Alexandria Ziegler and Lauren Alexander.

Catherine was a 1960 graduate of Little Flower High School. She received her BSN in Nursing from Gwynedd Mercy College in 1984. She was a member of the Who's Who in American Colleges and organizer of the O.W.L. (Older Wiser Learners) club while at Gwynedd. That group was such an inspiration to so many women. After losing her husband to Melanoma, Catherine went to college and earned her RN then BSN in nursing.

As a single mom with a busy family, she was able to provide a nice home, family vacations at the Jersey beaches and promote higher education for her children. It was not easy, but her determination and grit lead her to enjoy a successful 30-year career in the nursing field. The majority of her time was spent at Graduate Hospital in the GI Unit. She was quickly recognized as the go-to person for technical procedures, "hard sticks" and outstanding patient care. Her sensitive and caring nature was well documented throughout this time. In addition, she taught several classes at Graduate for new or returning nurses on topics related to "Nursing Care for the GI Patient" and "Abdominal Assessment" for the Advanced Anatomy & Physiology course.

In addition to her time spent as a mother, grandmother and healer, she enjoyed playing cards with her "church lady friends", testing her brain skills with daily crosswords, cryptograms and trivia games, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, acted as the welcoming face at St. Joseph & St. Roberts Rectory for many years and vacations at the south Jersey beaches.

A mass of Christian burial will be April 29, 2023 at 10:30am St. David Roman Catholic Church (316 Easton Rd. Willow Grove, PA 19090). Visitation in church from 9:30-10:15am. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Rd, Chalfont, PA 18914. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Gwynedd Mercy University in the name of Catherine Alexander www.gmercyu.edu/giving-gmercyu/memorials.
