World War II veteran. In an article carried by a number of newspapers in August, 1950, it says that "In World War II, his (Joseph Roland Albert's) brother, Joseph Fern Albert, was taken prisoner in European action. He was freed with the war's end." Brother Roland was missing in action (since July 1950) in the article, later reported killed (Sept. 1951).
In the 1930 & 1940 census, his name is listed as "Fernand".
On his marriage record to Myrtle Eileen Knight in 1947, and where they appear together in the 1950 census, his name is listed as "Joseph F.".
In his mother's obit in 1998, he is listed as "Ferne Jean Albert" of Fort Myers, Fla.
