Evelyn Mooneyham
March 5, 1947 - July 5, 2023
ATWATER, California - Evelyn Mooneyham passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2023, at age 76, in Atwater, California. Evelyn's loved ones were with her as she passed. She was born the youngest daughter of Thomas and Marian Ingle. Evelyn was a widow when she met her husband Donnie Mooneyham in 1968 and married in 1970. They recently celebrated 53 years of a faithful and loving marriage. Together Donnie and Evelyn raised two children, Larry, and Cheryl, with a strong work ethic, unwavering faith in Christ and clear family values (kindness, honesty, responsibility, unconditional love, loyalty, generosity). Every Saturday morning was dedicated to chores and Sunday was devoted to church services. Evelyn loved reading the bible, increasing her understanding of God's word, and strengthening her relationship with the Lord. Whenever her daughter needed a prayer for herself or a friend, the first person she would call was her mom.
Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (nanny), great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved unconditionally and was a natural caregiver. She tended all the physical and emotional wounds of her children and grandchildren. She was the best at pulling out splinters. Evelyn was always available to listen and give advice when asked. She will be remembered for her talks with her children and grandchildren on a variety of topics. Evelyn also raised the best dogs that her children and eventually grandchildren were able to enjoy.
Evelyn treasured her family, hosted holidays, planned family vacations and was present for life events (births, weddings, graduations, etc.). Every year, the family took a trip to Avila Beach where treasured memories were made. This tradition has been passed on to her children and grandchildren. She preserved these memories in scrapbooks for her family to enjoy. Evelyn was a role model to many but most importantly to her daughter, Cheryl. She taught Cheryl how to be the best mother and eventually grandmother when the time comes. She brought joy in all of our lives and will always remain in our heart.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Donnie Mooneyham and daughter, Cheryl (Gary) Dietz; five grandchildren: Ashley (Chris) Jones, Larry Cervantes, Spencer Dietz, Courtney (Trace) Lopez, and Summer Dietz; one great granddaughter: Isla Jones; sisters: Catherine Ingle, Muriel Ingle, Debby (Alan) Watts, Janiece Webb and brother Dub (Carol) Mooneyham. Evelyn will also be remembered by the Cervantes family, and her nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Robert (Larry) Cervantes.
Graveside service will be held at Winton Cemetery District,7651 Almond Ave, Winton, CA 95388 on August 4, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
