Robert "Bob" Barber, 99, of The Villages, FL, passed away at 8:57 A.M., Monday, July 17, 2023 at the Mission Oaks Assisted Living in Oxford, FL.

Bob had been a conductor for the Illinois Central Railroad.
He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Bob was a member of the Du Quoin V.F.W. and Pinckneyville Masonic Lodge.

He was born November 27, 1923 in Winkle, IL, the son of Charles and Rosa (Lowe) Barber.
He married Dorothy Ragland on March 1, 1940 in Perryville, MO and she preceded him in death on July 11, 2011.

He is survived by two daughters - Janet and husband Rex of Decatur, IL and Connie and husband August of The Villages, FL, one son - Jimmie of Dunnellon, FL, seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and six sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., July 29, 2023 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Masonic Service will be at 9:30 A.M., Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the Army National Guard.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
