Parents: William and Ola (Driver) Spangler

He attended Hackett High School and graduated in 1954.

Bill loved working with his hands and really enjoyed his career as an auto mechanic. He owned his own automotive shop in the 70s and 80s in Lindsay, CA. Bill also loved being active in the Presbyterian Church both in California and in Colorado. When his health couldn't sustain working in auto mechanics any longer, Bill enjoyed working as a jack of all trades at Calvin Crest Christian Camp in Oakhurst, CA where he could combine his love of working with his hands and sharing in church ministry.

Known to his children as "Pop" and his grandchildren as "Boppy," Bill is remembered as an avid lover of camping with family and friends in his younger days and a tinkerer of everything in his later years. His motto was, "Don't throw that away. I can glue that back together!" Bill delighted in experimenting in the kitchen and cooking deep-pit barbeque, and every afternoon, he enjoyed his favorite drink, a "highball." He loved spoiling his grandchildren with cookies and candies and was always happiest when he was making his famous M&M pancakes for the kids or waffles with strawberries and whipped cream.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Eberhardt Spangler of Parker, CO, a son William (Bill) Spangler (Teresa) of Ahwahnee, CA, a son Brian Spangler (Christine) of Elizabeth, CO, a daughter Debbie Huber (Mark) of Glendora, CA, and daughter Julie Smeltz (Thomas) of Brentwood, TN. Bill was a fun-loving grandfather to 22 grandchildren and a great grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren. He will certainly be missed by all.
