She was born December 25, 1931 in Canaan, West Virginia and was the daughter of Robert and Zenna (Strader) Arbogast. Joyce married Bernard R. Newcome on November 24, 1954 and he preceded her in death after 47 years of marriage on February 14, 2002.
She worked 25 years at the former ITT/North Electric in Galion and at Walmart in Ontario for 12 years. Joyce was a member of the Crestline Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening, her cats and spending time with her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by sons, Rickey (Deborah) Newcome of Pickerington and Jeffrey Newcome of Crestline; daughter, Kimberly (Jeff) Strubhar of Moneta, Virginia; four grandchildren, Ericka Newcome, Logan Strubhar, Austin Strubhar and Curtis Newcome; three great-grandchildren, Dakota Strubhar, Bentley Smith and Hayden Smith and two sisters, Levena (Pete) Schramek of Crestline and Donis Perry of Buckhannon, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant son, Randall Ray Newcome; an infant daughter, Debra Kay Newcome; granddaughter, Bridgette Newcome; two sisters, Glenda Tenney and Doris Brooks and two brothers, Basel Arbogast and Cecil Arbogast.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Bob Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline.
