Chauncey Leon Saxton was quite a character, born December 23, 1843, in up-state New York. A book could be written on the stories told about him but he was a good man, even though a stubborn one. When his first wife, Elizabeth Lucinda VanScoter Saxton died, he married within the year, much to the distress of his family. His second wife Lucinda Elizabeth Miller-Goodrich was a "Peach".
