Funeral services for Mrs. Virgie Marie Vaughn, 93, of Hughes Springs, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial to follow at Clark Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation starting one hour to service time.
Ms. Vaughn was born on May 11, 1930 in Morris County, Texas, and passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 in Hughes Springs, Texas. Marie loved spending time with her family, cooking, crocheting, genealogy research about her family, gardening and canning. Wednesday was her special day, Marie would have lunch, get her hair done, and go to the museum. One thing she made sure to always get a hug, along with saying "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Vaughn; sons, Ronnie and Charles Vaughn; and numerous brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Chrissy Knapp and husband Tony of Naples, Texas, Michelle Moore and husband Dale of Avinger, Texas, Christina Stanley of Daingerfield, Texas, Jason Vaughn and wife LaDonna of Blytheville, Arkansas, and Candy Richmond of DeBerry, Texas; great-grandchildren, Dakota Vaughn, Heather Rawlins and husband Zach, Sonny Browning and wife Linzie, Daniel Stanley and wife Anna, Hunter Vaughn, Maggie Vaughn; great-great grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, Trinaty Black, Rylan Rawlins, Abby Browning, and Avery Browning; special friend, Pat Connor; special caregivers, Edith, Angie, Love, and Carolyn; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
