Hess
Mrs. Isamiah Hess, widow of the late Alfred J. Hess, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Long of Knobsville, Saturday, February 25, 1928, of pneumonia, after an illness lasting five days.

The deceased was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Chilcote and was born at Coles Summit, Huntingdon county, February 17, 1856, aged 72 years and 8 days. She is survived by the following children, Lydia, wife of Earl Long of Knobsville; Amy, wife of Harry Kesselring of Altoona; Rosa, wife of Frank Lebo, Altoona and Russell Dean Hess, also of Altoona. She is also survived by the following brothers and sister; Mrs. W. P. Rupert of Pittsburgh; McClellan Chilcote of near Three Springs; Stephen Chilcote of near Marklesburg, Pa.; and Wesley Chilcote of Lewistown, Pa.

Mrs. Hess was a member of the M. E. Church and a regular attendant when her health permitted. She was a fine Christian woman, with always a cheerful smile and a kind word to all and never a word of complaint to anyone. In her death the community has lost a useful neighbor and the children a kind and loving mother.

Short funeral services were held by Rev. H. L. Jarret at the house Wednesday morning followed by further services at Saltillo by her former pastor, Rev. W. N. Wright of Altoona, assisted by Rev. Utts of Saltillo. Interment was made in the Saltillo cemetery.
