Ellen Halsey was born June 8, 1870. Died at her home in Schell City,
Jan. 24, 1941. Aged 70 years 7 months, 16 days.
She was united in marriage to J. F. Hicks Dec. 26, 1892.
To this union were born ten children, three preceding her in death. Those living, John Hicks, Schell City; Charley Hicks, Frankie Hicks Jr., Mrs. Tom Laughlin and Mrs. Fred Lukenbill of Harwood; Gene Hicks, Clinton, Mo.; and Wade Hicks of Kansas City, Mo.
She leaves to mourn her loss: her devoted husband, seven hildren; two brothers, Mr. Charles Halsey of Clinton; Mr. James alsey of Sedalia. and one sister, Mrs. Wade Johnson of Creighton, Mo.
She united with the Baptist church in her youth and her love for her savior continued to the end. Before sickness enfeebled her she was always doing works of kindness and gave generously of her time and strength in cases of need and many of those are still living to bless her memory.
Funeral services by Rev. Albert Broughton of Harwood were
conducted from the Baptist church of Schell City on Saturday
afternoon, Jan, 25 and the remains were laid to rest in Greenlawn cemetery.
