Ida's parents were John and Anna Kuni, originally from Finland. Her daughters were Dorothy Newman of Texas, Violet Laux of Double Adobe, Arizona, Arizona, Elizabeth Wolslagel of Bisbee, Aizona and Mildred Hare of Iowa. She had twelve grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Althaus moved from Tennessee to Bisbee in 1922. Before retiring in 1969, she worked for the post office at the Warren (Bisbee) station. She was a member of WBA and the Community Church of Warren.
