SIDNEY James Douglas Rayl, 22, of Sidney, Ohio, died Sunday, July 31, 2022. He was born Feb. 25, 2000, in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Nancy and Mark Conatser, of Sidney, and Scott Rayl, of Taylorsville, Kentucky.

He is survived by his siblings, Jessica (Justin) Colbert, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Jordan Rayl and Jayden Conatser, both of Sidney Ohio, and Scott Rayl Jr. and Chelsea Rayl, of Santa Ana California.

He is survived by a very large extended family of many aunts uncles and cousins and his paw paw, Douglas Porter, his grandma, Linda Rayl, and his grandma Laverna Conatser.

He was preceded in death by his maw maw, Janet Porter, his grandpa, James Rayl, and his grandpa, James Conatser.

James was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and lived in Taylorsville, Kentucky, until he was eight years old. He graduated from Fairlawn High School and Upper Valley Career Center in 2018. He enjoyed playing basketball and loved body building as well as mentoring others in their health and fitness goals. He had a deep love of cars. He had three cars. He loved playing video games, making people laugh and just being silly. He was a kind-hearted soul who always was willing to help others.

James was a steel worker.

Celebration of life will be held Sunday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Church in Piqua with Greg Morrow officiating.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. at Overhaul Mission Center in Lorain, Ohio, with Terra Hill and Nathan Porter officiating. His remains will be laid to rest with his maw maw Porter.
