Pauline died peacefully on February 22, 2010, in Seattle. She was born on February 25, 1914 to George and Ellen Barber in Bellingham, WA., the oldest of six children. She graduated from Holy Names Academy in Seattle and attended the U of W. In 1937 she married Edmund J. Hackett and together they raised six children on Capitol Hill. She was widowed in 1963 and then worked in the library at Seattle University.

In 1970 she married Wallace M. Hibbard of Bellevue, WA. He and Pauline had 27 wonderful years together and brought much joy to our family. Their home was the center of many gatherings with friends and family. Wallace died in 1997. Pauline enjoyed gardening, was an accomplished bridge player, and avid reader. In addition, she was active in many charitable organizations at St. Joseph's Parish in Seattle. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her committed faith in Our Lord.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter Mary Leishman and son Paul Hackett. She is survived by four children, Tom Hackett (Port Townsend, WA), Margaret Tarleton (Issaquah, WA), Ellen Cathy Hackett and Ed Hackett Jr. both of (Kirkland, WA). In addition Pauline had 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a great, great grandchild. She is also survived by her brother George Barber and sister Maryann Gray

The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 31st at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 9460 -NE 14th ST in Bellevue with a luncheon following at the church. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Post Polio of Washington or ALS Association..
