Don Leon Anderson passed away from this life on July 18, 2023 in Altus, Oklahoma. Don was born on December 1, 1935 to Leon Anderson and Anne E. (Staggs) Anderson on the Anderson home place south of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. Don attended Soldiers Spring School which was located on their home place and then graduated from Lone Wolf High School in 1953. Don enjoyed working on the farm, had a strong work ethic and was an excellent craftsman. These traits lead him on a successful professional career. Don graduated from Oklahoma State University with an Associates Degree in Electronics Technology in 1960. He began his career working for the United States Federal Aviation Administration in Waco, Texas. He completed a career with over 25 years of service with the United States Federal Aviation Administration in Lawton, Oklahoma. He received multiple awards for special achievement and outstanding performance in his duties as supervisor for all aviation facility maintenance at the Lawton Municipal Airport. After retirement he returned to the family farm where he felt most at home. He enjoyed raising cattle, working outside, and playing dominoes & card games. Don and Darlene enjoyed traveling throughout the Rocky Mountains with their camper trailer. Don was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Anne Anderson, daughter Donna Anderson and daughter Peggy Anderson. Survivors include his wife Darlene Anderson of Altus, Oklahoma; Sister Delia Stanfill of Blair, Oklahoma; Brother Ken
Anderson of Blair, Oklahoma; Son Keith and wife Kimberly Anderson of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma; Stepdaughter Cathy Odette of Lee's Summit, Missouri; Stepson Jeffery Thanscheidt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Stepson William Thanscheidt of Wichita, Kansas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grand children, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. Services for Don are scheduled for Friday, July 21, 2023, 2:00pm at People's Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Coffin officiating. Interment will follow at the Lone Wolf Cemetery, Lone Wolf, OK. Public Viewing will begin Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 1:00pm until 8:00pm, with family present to receive friends between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
