Barbara was a member of the Spruce Pine First Baptist Church, and she worked at Coates American for sixteen years before retiring. Barbie, as her husband Monk called her, traveled cross country with her husband, Monk, and visited sites from California to Utah to the Carolina coast. She had a heart for her family and spent years taking care of her mother in her home.
Left to cherish her memory is her son; Tim McKinney and wife, Julie of Spruce Pine and her grandson; Aaron McKinney and wife, Amber of Spruce Pine.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Phillips Cemetery with Rev. Keith Dale officiating.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt 'Thank You' to all of the staff of Care Partners Solace Center for their care of Barbara.
