He was born April 27, 1934, in Champaign County, the son of the late Ralph Ropp Sr. and Goldie Wells Ropp.
On April 22, 1955, he married Caroline Stroud Ropp.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline; daughters, Sherry (Doug) Butler, Brenda (Rick) King, Crystal (Jim) Lee and Valerie (Rick) Scott, all of DeGraff; son, Richard (Lisa) Ropp of Bellefontaine; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Massie of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Nellie, Edith, Glenna, Betty, Martha and Inez, and one brother, Joe.
He was retired from Copeland in Sidney. He was a graduate of Woodstock High School.
He was a member of Kennard Nazarene Church, the Board of Public Affairs for DeGraff and a former member of DeGraff Lion's Club.
He enjoyed collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia, woodworking and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff with the Rev. Stephen Anstine and the Rev. Dene Anstine officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
