Carolyn Jo Rutherford, 80, of Muncie, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, July 13, 2023, at The Woodlands in Muncie. She was born December 16, 1942, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of the late Homer and Mary (Drumm) Watson.
Carolyn was a graduate of Muncie Central High School. She married Billy Rutherford on September 28, 1959. Carolyn loved to save a dollar and enjoyed rummage sales and flea markets. She was a self-employed tax preparer, primarily for the elderly and farmers, and loved trading antiques nationwide.
Those left to cherish Carolyn's memory include her husband of 63 years, Billy Rutherford; a son, Eric Rutherford of Muncie; a brother, Don (Barbara) Watson of California; and several grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Eugene Rutherford, Jr. and Kevin Joe Rutherford; and by a brother, Bill Watson.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Elm Ridge Memorial Park in Muncie with Pastor Ron Elam officiating.
