Peterson, Charles Bascom, Jr., "Pete" born November 27, 1913 in Dallas, Texas, died August 1, 2002. Pete was an active member of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church and was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Salesmanship Club since 1945. He served on the boards of Frito-Lay, Employers Casualty, Commercial Metals, Children's Medical Center Board, Circle Ten Council - Boy Scouts of America, Communities Foundation, Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, and Salvation Army Advisory Board. He was board president of Dallas Chapter - American Red Cross, Dallas Methodist Hospital, and Salvation Army. February 15, 1931, he began working for Texas Bank and Trust Company as a messenger where he worked in every department of the Bank, and became President of the Bank in 1958. In 1962 he moved to Republic National Bank as Chairman of the Trust Department and Executive Vice President. Pete was deeply loved and widely respected. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles B. Peterson, III and is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Fair Peterson; daughters, Sue Kimbrough and Ann Griffin and her husband Jerry; grandchildren, Kelly Kimbrough, Ernest Kimbrough, III, Emily Weber, Lisa Milliken and Jane Becker; and three great grandchildren; and his sister Sue P. Traller.

Open visitation will be Friday from 12:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A private cryptside service will be held for the family followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2002 at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, with Dr. Don Benton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to any of the organizations he served. Dignity Memorial Sparkman Hillcrest 7405 W. Northwest Hwy. Dallas.
