Robert J. BAHER

Born: Sept. 13, 1922

Died: April 21, 2015

The world lost a true Renaissance man when Robert Joseph Baher passed away on April 21, 2015. Born in Joliet to Harry and Rose (Jacklich) Baher, on September 13, 1922, Robert lived his whole life surrounded by beauty and love. He was an artist, a writer, a musician, an opera lover and a genuinely good soul.

He graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1939, and worked for Joliet Pattern Works as the office manager for his entire career.

He was one of the founders and the only surviving original member of a Joliet writers group - a collection of like-minded creative people who shared a love of the written word in plays, novels, and short stories. He was a season ticket holder for the Lyric Opera and enjoyed taking guests to share in one of his passions. His family and friends proudly display his paintings in their homes.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, James; nephew, Jerry Konkel; and great niece, Christine Cole.

He was a life-long member of St. Joseph's Parish, and in accordance with his wishes, private interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, and a memorial mass will be held at a later date.
