She was married on December 20, 1904 in Sumner County, Tennessee as the 1st wife of Walter Garfield McWhirter (1881–1966), the son of William Tyree McWhirter (1852–1925) and Mary Jane (Blackmore) McWhirter (1858–1931). Pearl and Walter were divorced in 1949 in Saint Johns County, Florida, and Walter was eventually remarried.
Living in Hendersonville, Sumner County, Pearl was 86 years old when she passed away at a Gallatin nursing home on March 7, 1969.
Survivors included her daughter Lola Isenberg in Gallatin, sisters Mrs Louise Ferrell of Gallatin, Mrs Jim Gatton at Louisville, Kentucky, Mrs Nell Jones in White House, Tennessee, nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held on March 9th at the Hendersonville Chapel of Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, and burial was Crestview Cemetery, Gallatin.
