85, Bras d'Or
Michael T. Williams of 396 Alder Point Road, Bras d'Or, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Ingonish, he was the son of the late William C. and Mary Janet (O'Connell) Williams. He retired in 1979 as a stevedore with CN. He was a member of St. Ann's Parish, Alder Point, N.S.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Mary Violet Buffet; three daughters Sylvia (Francis) Jessome and Debbie (Bobby) Woods of Bras d'Or and Carol (Louis) Stubbert of Florence; three sons Joey (Louise) Williams, Toronto, Clifton (Nora) Williams and Brian (Jocilyn) Williams, Bras d'Or; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are special nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; son Kevin; two sisters Margaret and Mary and two brothers William and Leo.
Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at the G.R. Francis and Son Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Funeral services will be held at St. Ann's Church, Alder Point, Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Bedford Doucette officiating. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bras d'Or.
