Nathaniel Danielson served as an officer in the American Revolution. He was the son of John Danielson, Sr. and Margaret Mighill and the husband of 1) Mary Morgan and 2) Rose Morgan, his late wife's cousin and the widow of Timothy Corlis. His first marriage to Mary Morgan occurred in Brimfield, MA, on 23 August, 1753. In 1755 he served as a corporal in the French and Indian War. In 1774 along with his father and two brothers he signed the Brimfield Covenant which urged the end of trade with Great Britain to protest unjust rule. He served as a Major in Col. David Brewer's MA Regiment during the American Revolution. In April 1778 Nathaniel was tried in the Hampshire Co (MA) Court at Northampton for the 14 Aug 1777 murder of Jabez Nichols AKA Jabez Smith. He was indicted for manslaughter, but was later acquitted. Later, the foreman of the jury claimed that they had convicted him of manslaughter, but the court claimed the non guilty verdict was already recorded and could not be changed.
