Cheryl Lynn Massaglia (nee White), of Newtown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 4th, 2023. She passed away on her birthday and was exactly 80 years old. Cheryl is survived by her loving children, Robert Massaglia and Debbie Verwoerd McCullough, her son-in-law Matthew McCullough, and her cherished grandchildren Carolina, Luke, Alex, and Matthew. Cheryl will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her but is reunited now with her husband Mario who passed away in October 2020.

Cheryl was born in the Bronx, New York and grew up near Tarrytown in West Chester County, New York. She attended West Chester Community College where she received her Associate Degree in Applied Science Medical Laboratory Technology in 1964. After graduating, Cheryl worked for the Technicon Corporation, Hoffman-La Roche, and then transitioned to a job closer to home to be with her children as they grew up. She spent nearly 20 years working in Sparta, New Jersey for Dr. Howard F. O'Gorman, DDS as a dental assistant. It was there that Cheryl met great friends and found her place in the professional world. But it was shortly after graduating from college and starting her job at Technicon Corporation that she met Mario. Cheryl and Mario were married for nearly 53 years when he passed away. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend.

Throughout her life, Cheryl was an example to her children, teaching them compassion, faith, kindness, selfless love, respect, and especially, patience. Her presence was woven seamlessly into the fabric of their days as children and adults. Her family was her priority, and she was an ever-present shining light to them. Her heart-warming smile and laugh were infectious, and she showed her love through her words, actions, and deeds.

It was through her love for Mario and the beautiful family and life they created that Cheryl found her joy and purpose. Cheryl and Mario created a loving home and were an example of what it meant to be married, laughing together, and overcoming many challenges together. They found strength in each other. They were the center of each other's world, and, for Cheryl, everything revolved around Mario. Cheryl was lost without him.

For the past 15 years, Cheryl treasured her grandchildren, being present for the birth of her granddaughter, sharing laughter, funny faces, sleepovers, too many hugs and kisses to count. She adored her grandchildren and the time spent with them.

Family and friends are invited to share in Cheryl's Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 11th beginning at 10:50 A.M. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Rd, Newtown, Pennsylvania 18940. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
