Rites Are Set Today

Funeral services for George M. Herriman, 69, who died Saturday morning at 7:20 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. G. Grace, with be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Bemis Orthodox Baptist Church with the Rev. W. A. Moody officiating. Burial with Smith Funeral Home in charge, will follow at Hollywood cemetery.

Born and reared in Hardeman County, Mr. Herriman had lived in Bemis for the past 25 years. He had worked for the Bemis Bro. Bag Company for that length of time and was a member of the Twenty Year Club.

He leaves his wife, the former Miss Annie Wiggins, to whom he was married Nov. 3, 1898; five sons, Oscar, Earl and Leonard Herriman, all of Bemis, Lester Herriman, Shelbyville, and George E. Herriman, Washington D. C.; three daughters, Mrs. Grace and Mrs Ellis Pratt, both of Jackson, Mrs. Frank Canovan, Bemis; two sisters, Mrs. John Watson, Bemis, and Mrs. Jim Crowley, Bolivar; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The body will be at the residence, on Gregg Street, Bemis, until the hour for services. Active pallbearers will be his nephews, Arthur, Robert and Warner Herriman, Hughlon Crowley and Roscoe and Jewell Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Webb Allison, Cola Reed, Ezra Belew, Bill Simpson, Harry Keller and George Barton.
