BONOMI, Albert A. - A native and lifelong resident of Sonoma County, died Sunday, February 3, 2008 in Petaluma after a short illness, with his family by his side. He was 87. He was born Albert Augusto Bonomi to parents Angelo and Caterina Bonomi on July 20, 1920. Devoted husband to Alice Mildred Bonomi for 70 years. Loving and proud father to Al Bonomi Jr., and daughter-in-law Beverly Muelrath Bonomi. Cherished brother to Bill Bonomi and his wife Babe and sister-in-law Mary Bonomi. Preceded in death by brothers Alfred and Louie Bonomi. Adored grandfather to Diana and Jim Barnacle, Cheryl and Kevin Aguirre, Michelle Bonomi, Kris and Tony Vitali and Cathy Bonomi. Loving great-grand father to Travis and Justin Aguirre; Cristie, Brian and Gina Barnacle; and Peter Joseph Vitali. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Albert was raised in Marshall on a dairy ranch, and served in the Navy during World War II. He became an owner in Hunt & Behrens Feed Mill where he worked for 36 years before retirement. He was a member of the St. James Church, Sons of Italy, Moose Lodge, Italian Catholic Federation, and Marin-Sonoma Italian Club. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Friday, February 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy., Petaluma. A Visitation will be held Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, PO Box 1296, Santa Rosa, CA 95402 or the Alzheimers & Dementia Outreach, 450 Hayes Lane, Petaluma, CA 94952. Entombment: Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
