Mr. Joseph Leyman Reeves, 96, of Zebulon, passed away April 19, 2013, at the Family Life Enrichment Center near Watkinsville, Ga.

He was born in Zebulon to the late James Eugene Reeves and Lillian Tolen Reeves. Mr. Reeves served in the Army-Air Corps during World War II. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and then drove a school bus for the DeKalb County School System. In his spare time he repaired antique clocks. Mr. Reeves was a member of the Williamson United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wives, Edith Harrison Reeves and Ruth Armistead Reeves, and grandson, Josh Reeves (KIA in Iraq 2007).

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Jean Reeves of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Jared Reeves and wife Kathy, Sherri Reeves, Joni Reeves, and Michael Reeves; granddaughter-in-law, Leslie Reeves; great-grandson, Jackson Reeves; sisters, Nadine Buffington of Zebulon, and Ann Brown of McDonough; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21 in the Williamson United Methodist Church Cemetery with Dr. Greg Burgner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Williamson United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 83, Williamson, GA 30292.
