Robert H. Hellrigel, age 91, of Peoria passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

Born December 2, 1931 in Peoria, a son to Herman F and Helen E. (Klassert) Hellrigel. He was raised and educated in Peoria, graduating from Spalding Institute with the class of 1950. Upon graduating Bob honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. On October 15, 1955 he married Marie F. Hageman at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Peoria and together they would raise a family and cherish 67 years. Bob worked as a mail carrier for USPS for 31 years until his retirement. Bob enjoyed volunteering at Heart of Illinois Harvest for over 17 years and was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, serving as an usher, church collector, Eucharist Minister, and past president of the men's club.

Survivors include his wife Marie of Peoria; two daughters: Jennifer L. (Roger) Littlejohn of Peoria, and Robyn M. (Hank) Jackson of Peoria; and sister Irene Cullen of Peoria.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Toni Gold and five sisters.

Burial will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum.
