Mrs. Wilma Ethel Messer West, age 85 of Gray was born in Knox County, KY on April 2, 1938 to the late Oscar Messer and Myrtle Hensley Messer and departed this life on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at her home.
She was a member of Freedom Point Church of God and enjoyed sewing, working in her flower garden, and time with family and friends especially the grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, her husband: Tom West; a brother: Lowell Messer and 2 sisters: Alice Messer and Jana Lee Farmer preceded her in death.
Ethel is survived by her loving daughter: Tammy Lynn Vance of Gray; special sister-in-law: Pat Messer of Gray; 2 sisters: Charlotte Kilgore and Linda Johnson and husband Charlie all of Gray; 2 grandchildren: David Vance and wife Brittany and Holly Moore and husband Jason; 5 great grandchildren: Kirra Vance, Liam Vance, Amelia Vance, Dani Vance, and Hadley Vance; other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Ethel West will be conducted in the New Vision Pentecostal Church on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Kenny Johnson and Rev. Sean Disney officiating. Burial will follow in the West Cemetery with David Vance, Jason Moore, Cody Messer, and Denny Messer serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the New Vision Pentecostal Church on Wednesday from 1:00 PM to the funeral hour at 2.
