Andrew Douglass was the husband of Jane Ross Douglass. His father may have possibly been the Lord Archibald Douglass of Midlothian, Scotland who emigrated to America and died in New Castle, Delaware circa 1728. Andrew also had a brother named Archibald Douglass, and possibly 2 other brothers named Thomas and James who all came to America with their extended families from Scotland circa 1725.

Andrew and Jane (Ross) Douglass were the parents of Susanna Douglass who married Drury Tucker. There were also the parents of George Douglass Sr, "wealthy and influential colonial settler of Berks County, Pennsylvania who built White Horse Tavern in 1765 and for whom Douglassville, PA is named. The Tavern was a stage coach stop of historical importance during the Revolutionary War".
