A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Pastor Jody Yopp and Rev. David Charles Hansley officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.
She loved her family and honored her father and mother. Kathleen was preceded in death by her father and mother, David and Sunnie Hansley, her husband the Reverend Orvin B. Everett Sr., a son Reverend Orvin Everett Jr., two grandsons, Bryan Everett and Joseph Jenkins Jr., two brothers David W. Hansley and Carol Hansley, sisters Minnie Mae Chandler, Frances Rublien and Beulah Cox. She is survived by one sister Virginia Hardison. A daughter Doris Jenkins and her husband Sonny of Topsail Beach, a son Winston Everett and his wife Lila and their two children Alan Everett and his wife Ann and their two children, Pam Thomas and her husband Keith and their two children of Baxley, Ga. A daughter, Wilma Yopp and her husband Ronald A. Yopp Sr. of Sneads Ferry, their two sons Ronald Yopp Jr. and his two children and Pastor Jody Yopp and his wife Staci and their two children of Jacksonville. A daughter Shirley Arnold and her husband Bill and their three children, Louise Parker and her husband J.R. and their two children, William Arnold and his wife Patty and his three children, Danny Arnold and his son, daughter Linda E. Lowe and her friend Jimmy Woolard, her three children, DeLane Taylor and her husband Billy and their son, Donna Hosier and her husband Billy Ray and their son; David Shepard Jr. and his wife Holly and their son, the children of her deceased son Rev. Orvin Everett Jr., Kelly Avery and her husband Jerry and their three children, Thomas Everett; and Kimberly Hoffman and her husband, Steve and their son. She also has a sister-in-law, Mrs. Herman Alberti and a niece Delores Yopp. She is also survived by her second husband Rev. Rashie Kennedy of Beulaville. In all, she was blessed with six children, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grand children and one great great grandson. She will be remembered for her work with her husband Orvin Everett Sr. as they established and helped to plant seven Original Free Will Baptist Churches in Eastern North Carolina. Great was their faithfulness.
