Margaret was a longtime resident of Spring Grove. She began working with her first job at Marshall Fields in Chicago and then during the war, she worked in a machine shop. She transitioned into a homemaker during World War 2. Margaret was a collector of all types of antiques, both professionally and as a hobby. She was well known at the antique shows both in Grayslake and Elkhorn. She enjoyed both selling and buying antiques. Margaret was an avid reader with an inquiring mind to researching critical information or fun facts on just about anything that she found to be knowledgeable. Margaret was a fabulous cook as would her family claim and she was the most loving mom and a grandmother who was thrilled each time when it came to seeing her grandchildren especially on their birthdays. Margaret was loved beyond measure and will remain in the hearts of all who loved her. Her family was blessed to have her in their lives for so long.
Survived by her loving children, Elizabeth (Francis) Kattner, Judith (the late John) Blaesing, Samuel (Judy) DeRosa, Daniel (MaryAnn) DeRosa, Richard (Debbie) DeRosa; grandchildren, Ken(Melanie), Chris(Paula), Anthony, Jaclyn (Trever), Robert, Lance; great grandchildren, Paige, Catrina, Kevin; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; brother George Jacob, sisters Jean Andrews, Goldie(Adolph) Pyzek, husband, Samuel DeRosa on August 29, 1994; granddaughter, Deborah Kattner.
Visitation will be on Monday November 14, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service at Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home, 8103 Wilmot Road, Spring Grove, IL 60081.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL.
