Joseph was the son of George and Hannah Tennell. His wife was Lucy Isbell. Lucy died in Kentucky and Joseph moved to Indiana. Joseph fought in the War of 1812 17 REG'T (FRANCESCO'S) KENTUCKY MILITIA. Private at induction and discharge. Roll of Capt. Steven Ritchies Company, Kentucky Militian, war of 1812, page 265, shows Joseph Tennell, private, date of appointment or enlistment, February 8, 1815 and to what time engaged or enlisted, August 8, 1815. His marker in this cemetery is a military marker. Joseph was my third great grandfather. The father of Serena Tennell who married John W. Dean. Lucy Jane Dean Turner was my great grandmother.
