Death Summons Mrs. Emma Bayer
Was a daughter of Mrs. Emil Henning of this village-- Died in Minneapolis
Mrs. Emma Ida Bayer, daughter of Mrs. Emil Henning of this village, died at her home in Minneapolis on Saturday June 7, 1919, at the age of 19 years, 3 months and 22 days, death being due to solar pneumonia.
The deceased was born February 15, 1900, in Camden township, near New Germany. There she passed her childhood and youth and at the age of 14 years was confirmed by Rev. Theo. Rolf in the old log church near Crow River. While employed in Minneapolis she met a young gentleman named William Bayer and became engaged to him, they being married on August 3, 1918. On April 29th last a little boy was born to Mrs. Bayer, who after this began to ail. Last week her condition became serious and her mother, Mrs. Henning, was summoned. The end came Saturday.
Besides the husband and baby the deceased is survived by her mother, four brothers and three sisters, namely: Adolph Henning, of New Germany; Erick, Emil and Irvin, of this place; Mrs. Emil Guetzkow and Mrs. Fred Guetzkow, of Cologne; Mrs. F. Gohlke, of Maple Hill; Mrs. Lehmbecker, of Minneapolis; Mrs. William Schmachel, of Mayer, and Elda, of this village.
The remains were brought up from Minneapolis Sunday evening and taken to the home of the mother. The funeral was held from there Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock, services being conducted in the Lutheran church here by Rev. Baumhoefener.
The remains were then taken to the Crow River cemetery and laid to rest. We sympathize with the bereaved relatives.
