In 1958, they left the farm due to her husbands' health, moving to Banning, CA, for three years. While in California Rosie worked at an electronics plant. In 1961, they returned to Omaha and Rosie started working at the Veterans Medical Center: working her way up to being the Budget Analyst for the hospital. Her husband, Francis, passed away December 26, 1963. Rosie continued working and raising Clare Ann and Daniel.
Rosie retired March 1, 1987, and after a couple years, started traveling. Two of her favorite trips were to Iceland, and a cruise through the Panama Canal. She took many bus trips throughout the United States. She loved her flowers as long as she was able to work in the yard. She volunteered at the VIVA Flu Clinic for the past 20 years, the Omaha Community Playhouse, and the VA Medical Center. Rosie was active in many organizations.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis; son, Ronald; siblings: Christine, Harry, Clara and Walter Ambrose; She is survived by her children; Clare Ann (John), Daniel (Kathy); six grandchildren: Ann Smith (Ryan), Eric Dauner (Liz), Jill Moore (Ryan), Katie and Amy Platchetka, and Kylee Dauner; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
FAMLY RECEIVES FRIENDS: Friday, June 30, 2023, 5PM to 7PM at the West Center Chapel., followed by VIGIL SERVICE: at 7PM. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Saturday, July 1, 2023, 12 noon at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church. 3405 S 118th St. INTERMENT: Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Mary Our Queen Catholic Church.
