Frederick Y. Hawver
Frederick Y. Hawver. 84, died at his home September 20, 1934 after a lingering Illness of several months. Mr. Hawver was born June 10, 1850 on the farm now known as the Dunn farm south east of town. This farm was acquired by his father Frederick P. Hawver directly from the government land office in the eighteen thirties. Mr. Hawver is the last of a family of seven children. He is survived by one son. H. D. Hawver of Milwaukee, a niece, two nephews, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His wife proceeded him in death October 30, 1930. Mr. Hawver had always made his home in and near Galesburg. A man of pioneer qualities, he leaves a host of friends and neighbors who once more regret seeing the passing of old friendships and ties. The funeral services were held Sunday p. m. at the Wilson Funeral Home. Rev. C. A. Clay officiating. Interment at Galesburg City Cemetery.
