Norma DeRossett Obituary
On September 8, 1931, an angel girl was born in Jackson, Kentucky to Tommy and Evelyn (Gibson) Miller. This precious angel was named Norma Jean Miller.
She married Hillard DeRossett on May 14, 1947. She was the mother of five children, David DeRossett, Patricia Ward, Sandy DeRossett, Linda Kindle and Barbara Lockhart.
Norma worked for the Martinsville High School cafeteria. She was also actively involved at the Senior Center and sang in a group called Silver Notes. She visited and sang at local nursing homes with the Silver Notes. Norma loved to travel and spend time with her family. She loved the Lord and her family. She received her angel wings on June 25, 2023 to meet the Lord and receive eternal everlasting life.
She leaves behind four children, David DeRossett (Donna), Patricia Ward (Billy), Sandy DeRossett (Brenda) and Linda Kindle (Rick) all from Martinsville; grandchildren, David DeRossett, Jr., Richard DeRossett, Pauletta Stout, Billy Ward Jr., Kristina Ward, Stephanie Fares, Tina Kindle, Jennifer Kindle, Ronald Guy; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hillard; daughter Barbara; parents, Tommy Miller, Jr. and Evelyn Spratt; siblings, Marie Greene, Jay Miller, Edward Miller; grandson Sandy DeRossett, Jr.; great grandson, Theodore Lane DeRossett.
Visitation is 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Costin Funeral Chapel. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Joseph DeRossett officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service Friday.
Norma will be laid to rest at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
