Elsie Leona Weathers was born on October 19th, 1925 in Henryetta, OK, the daughter of James and Georgia (Norick) Adams. She grew up with one brother, Thomas and one sister, Laura. She attended and graduated from school and then started her college studies. It was at this time she met a handsome young man, Clarence E. Weathers and they were married and shared many happy years of hard work, love and laughter, raising their daughter Donna. Clarence preceded Elsie in death in 2007. Elsie was a homemaker for her entire lifetime, and there was nothing better for her than caring for her husband and family. She was a really good cook and kept her home comfortable. When she wasn't working, she was very artistic and loved painting ceramics and crocheting various items, often for family and friends. She was musical and enjoyed playing the organ. A Christian by faith, she read her Bible and prayed daily. She loved going to Church and enjoyed good gospel music. She was the proud grandmother of two grandchildren, Ty and Wendy, and loved any chance to see them. Later she welcomed 6 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was a woman of simple pleasures. She enjoyed the view from her own backyard, feeding birds, caring for her favorite dog, Puddles, and gathering her family for a holiday. Her health began to fade and she passed from this life on June 21st, 2023 in Tahlequah, OK, after reaching the age of 97 years. She will be greatly missed.
